1: Congratulations ! EMILEE
2: EMILEE | May 18, 2011, Central Hardin High School Seniors Honor Night..... Recognition for everything you have worked so hard for: Summa Cum Laude (First in the Class), Commonwealth Diploma, Perfect Attendance, KERA Scholar, Central Hardin English Departmental Award, Central Hardin Math Departmental Award, Central Hardin Science Departmental Award, Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship, Sam Walton Community Scholarship, Zonta Club Young Women in Public Affairs Award, Republican Women's Elizabeth Tori Scholarship, Cecilian Bank Scholarship, College Faculty Scholarships, College Trustee Scholarships, Governor's Scholars Scholarships, College Presidential Scholarships. What parent wouldn't be proud of their child who received these honors? There is no way anyone, except for us, really understands the time and effort you have put into achieving these accomplishments. Even though they were high school awards, these awards were not accomplished in four years. You have diligently worked all thirteen years striving for perfection. Every honor and award you have earned was truly that...earned. All these awards are something to be proud of. However, sitting there listening to the faculty department head read the criteria for the elite departmental awards; 'is not satisfied until it is her best work', 'willingly helps her classmates', 'elected to take college algebra at the same time as taking calculus-unheard of', 'only student who attempts every homework problem', 'stood out from the other students' but most impressive was 'UNANIMOUS' faculty decision!....made us the most proud...even one of the departmental awards would have been a great honor, but to win all three is amazing! You should be the most honored by these departmental awards too because it shows you earned the respect of all your teachers. Even though at times through the years it was difficult; you stood up for what you believed, whether it was debating grades over one point, explaining there could be more than one correct answer or convincing teachers how to put grades in the computer so that the final grade still calculates accurately; you obviously were able to stand up for what you believe and at the same time still earn the respect of all your teachers. That's extraordinary! Be proud of your accomplishments they are amazing! Mom and Dad

18: The Push by David McNally The eagle gently coaxed her offspring toward the edge of the nest. Her heart quivered with conflicting emotions as she felt their resistance to her persistence nudging. "Why does the thrill of soaring have to begin with the fear of falling?" she thought. This ageless question was still unanswered for her. As in the tradition of the species, her nest was located high upon the shelf of a sheer rock face. Below there was nothing but air to support the wings of each chick.
19: "Is it possible that this time it will not work?" She thought. Despite her fears the eagle knew it was time. Her parental mission was all but complete. There remained one final task...the push. The eagle drew courage from an innate wisdom. Until her children discovered their wings, there was no purpose for their lives. Until they learned how to soar, they would fail to understand the privilege it was to have been born an eagle. The push was the greatest gift she had to offer. It was her supreme act of love. And so, one by one, she pushed them and---- THEY FLEW.
