BC: All in all, we had a great week. Brad picked Matt and Sarah up at the airport late afternoon Saturday and they went home to Duluth on Sunday. Very quiet at our house after everyone went home!
FC: June 2011 at Gramma and Grampa's in Owatonna
Matt and Sarah planned a trip to California for their tenth wedding anniversary so Noah and Madeline came to stay with us! They immediately wanted to know what 'adventures' we had planned for the week. Monday through Friday mornings were spent at Vacation Bible School - this year, due to construction at Trinity, it was held at St. John Lutheran. I helped with snacks, Noah was in a class with other kids who had completed kindergarten and Madeline spent her time with the four and under age group. Both were a little nervous the first day and then were excited to go the rest of the week. We ended the week with lunch at McDonalds! Most days we went and played at the playground at Lincoln school. One evening, we went out to the fairgrounds for a safety seminar. We bought two new bike helmets, watched a police dog and viewed the Mayo helicopter! We visited great grandpa and great grandma at the farm one day. Beth and Aaron came for a visit. We baked cookies, played with legos, put puzzles together, sewed, read books . . . we kept very busy!
Beth and Aaron came to visit and somehow Noah ended up in a tree!
project time - let's make Father's Day cards for dad | I need to concentrate!
This is too much fun | I am creating!
Noah playing outdoor games at Trinity's Vacation Bible school (held at St. John this year!)
Family night at Vacation Bible School - Madeline said they told her she could sing whatever song she wanted so she was going to sing Jingle Bells!!!
Madeline liked going to the Lincoln School playground - she renamed it 'arm slide park'!
We went out to the fairgrounds for a safety camp. We were able to look inside the Mayo 1 helicopter and then watch it take off. They told everyone to move quite a distance away - it stirred up a lot of dust and sand but was fun to see it finally airborne!
 MAYO 1
We watched one of the Owatonna police dogs at work. It was exciting to watch. They told everyone to be very quiet so we didn't distract the dog from his job!
Members of the local bike group (Kathy Duffus) helped fit the bike helmets. Madeline had the giggles more than once during her fitting!
Legos, and puzzles are always a fun way to keep busy!
Gramma and Madeline made chocolate chip cookies one afternoon. We also made a new blanket! Madeline picked out flannel squares (left over from her baby quilt) and we we sewed them into a new blankie!
