BC: My favorite part of the book was when Leslie and Jess built the stronghold of Terabithia because it's when all the magic started and when Jess and Leslie discover that they work together well and make a great team!
FC: Bridge To Terabithia By: Katherine Paterson Created by: Chloe L
Leslie and Jess had a lot of interactions. One interaction that first pops up in my mind is the first day of school and they race. Leslie won and Jess was very upset. The second interaction that I loved between Leslie and Jess was when they first entered Terabithia and built the stronghold.. The third interaction between Leslie and Jess that I remember is when It's Christmas and they trade gifts and Leslie gave Jess paint and real paper and Jess gives her a puppy. Those are 3 interactions that I enjoyed between Jesse and Leslie in the book.
Terabithia is a imaginary kingdom that Jess and Leslie built. Leslie and Jess are the rulers of the land. Terabithia has a stronghold and different groves. That land is a secret, it is special place for Jess and Leslie. They treasure it like it was the last thing on Earth.
In one part of the book, Ms. Edmunds and Jess go to and art museum, in Washington, together. Together they admire things they love together. It's special to Jess to be invited to the art museum with Ms. Edmunds. That is one experience that they had together. | The relationship between Jess and Mrs. Edmunds is that they appreciate each other. Jess appreciates Ms. Edmunds because she is the only one who admires his artwork and thinks it's good. Mrs. Edmunds appreciates Jess because he is creative and motivates him to keep doing art and to not give up. That is the relationship between Jess and Ms. Edmunds.
The Burkes and the Aarons have many differences. The Burkes family is wealthy they have no worries really. They are very close. They only have one child and a dog. The parents are writers and they wrote many articles and books. The Burkes are very different from the Aarons. | The Aarons and the Burkes have many differences. The Aarons family is poor and have a lot of worries. They aren't very close. The Aarons have 5 kids and no pets but a cow. Their dad used to work in Washington, but now is fired. Their mom is a stay home mom.The Aarons are the opposite of the Burkes.
The conflict in the story is that Jess had a spectacular day in Washington with Ms. Edmunds but when he got home there was bad news: Earlier that day, Leslie tried to enter Terabithia but while she was in the air... the rope snapped. Leslie dropped and her parents suspected she hit her head on a hard rock when she fell. That fall killed Leslie. Jesse was so guilty because he thought he was responsible for her death because he didn't invite her to Washington. He thought that if she came, nothing would've happened to her. That is the main conflict in this book.
One lesson that Leslie taught Jess was that to believe in yourself and to not loose your self-esteem. | One last lesson that Leslie taught was that its ok to be friends with your parents and with your siblings and loved ones. | Another lesson that Leslie taught Jess was to have an imagination in Terabithia and when Jess is reading books.
In this chapter the Aarons go to Easter church service, and Leslie joins them. The Aarons think that church is boring and scary, but Leslie thinks it's beautiful and wonderful. Also in this chapter, Mr.Aarons gets fired. Now, the family can't afford new Easter clothes. They are running out of money because Mrs. Aarons doesn't work either. That is what happened in chapter 8, Easter.
There are many differences between the movie and the book. In the movie there was no Easter or Christmas. Another example is that in the movie Leslie's story of scuba diving was fiction. Also there was no Christmas gift trading between Leslie and Jess, Leslie got the paints for Jess's birthday and to repay her, Jess got her P.T. In the movie, Jess and Leslie find the stronghold of Terabithia and fix it up. One last thing that was in the movie and not in the book is that there was no Miss.Bessie | There are many differences between the book and the movie. In the book there was Christmas and Easter. Also Leslie's story in the book was real. Another example is that Leslie and Jess traded gifts for Christmas and Jess got paints and Leslie got P.T. In the book, Leslie and Jess built the stronghold from scratch. The last example of a difference in the book and not in the movie was that there was a Miss.Bessie.
The queen and king of Terabithia were Leslie and Jess. I think the kingdom will be lonely without Leslie. Terabithia will also probably loose some of it's magic. I'm pretty sure the land will miss her too. But I know that May Belle and Jesse will lead a strong kingdom and bring it's magic back.
