S: Study Abroad Trip - Fall 2009

BC: I was ready to come home, But I can't wait to go back.


1: Our Apartment Reutlingen, Germany | Me and my Bed | Our Apartment Building on Campus | Colette and her Bed | Colettes and my Room | Our view toward town | Roses sent from Chris

2: Warm drinks for dessert | Another favorite restaurant in an old guard tower | At a Mexican place where we could get food we missed | Met Rolf and Carina there for drinks and dinner | Alexanders Our favorite Restaurant Reutlingen, Germany | We loved this place, especially their fries with garlic dip | It was always open when we needed a break from school

3: Around Town Reutlingen, Germany | The Ruetlingen Crest tiled in the street | Our beautiful town | The smallest street in Germany | The City Tower | The tower that used to protect the city | The City Wall

4: Oktoberfest 2009 | Drank and stole a mass at the Lowenbrau House at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. Our first trip in Europe and experience with the train system.

5: Good Times | Colette and me with our sausage and beer. | We got there late (10 am) and could barely find a seat. These German guys were nice enough to make room for us so we could sit down and enjoy the fun.

6: Only 1 train went to and from this city per day and we almost missed it | There were so many stairs. This was our first introduction to how Europeans stay in shape

7: Hohenzollern Castle

8: Venice, Italy | We visited the city market and Saint Marco Piazza all while enjoying home made Gelato. Colette and I both bought Venetian jewelry and masks.

9: Out on a gondola ride. We bargained with a local for a good deal. We couldn't leave Venice without experiencing this. | Explored the town at night with our English roommate from the hostel. The next morning we woke up early to catch our train to find Colette and I had bed bugs.

10: Climbed to the top of the Dome. Explored the perimeter of an old military complex at night.

11: Florence, Italy | Became cultured touring the museums of Florence. Ate amazing local Italian food (I had linguine with baby clams and other seafood). Stayed at an awesome hostel compared to Venice.

12: B | BMW World Field Trip and Tour | Munich, Germany

13: Toured the BMW plant | Saw some awesome concept vehicles | Went to the BMW museum | Got beer and pretzels on the bus trip

14: Bruxelles, Belgium

15: We got lost for half of the first day in a bad part of town and by the time we found the city center, we were all tired and hungry. | Went to a Chocolate museum and got to have free samples.

16: Nice, France | This weekend we were suppose to go to Prague but when we looked up the weather, Prague was cold and snowing and Nice was warm and sunny.

18: Colette and I had bright white skin showing while we were in our bikinis compared to the "Monacanese" locals.

19: Monte Carlo, Monaco

20: Audi Field Trip and Tour | My Dream Car - Audi R6 | Again we got beer and pretzels on the bus ride. I was most impressed with this tour over all the field trips.

22: Athens, Greece | One of my favorite trips. The scenery was beautiful and Colette and I had a blast.

24: Corfu, Greece | Went 4 wheeling around the island and found some amazing beaches and 1 nude one (oops) Went on a booze cruise Partied at the Pink Palace Drank more Ouzo then I will ever want to again

26: Vatican City, Vatican | Woke up early to have croissants and coffee and got in line for the Vatican. Toured the Sistine Chapel Saw the Pope and listened to him give us and our family and friends a blessing from the Catholic Church.

28: Rome, Italy

29: Rome was beautiful, Colette and I had a blast touring the Colosseum and aqueducts. This was our last trip after Athens, Corfu, and Vatican on our winter break vacation

30: Halloween 2009 German Style | Halloween party was at a German frat house. We got pictures taken from a professional photographer that was at the party.

31: Mat apologizing after he asked us to rip his jeans with a knife and Colette stabbed herself. | Colette was a Catholic school girl I was a cowgirl Mat was a zombie Rolf was a scare crow and Carina was a zombie too Apparently a Halloween costume in Germany consists of wearing red and black make up and being some kind of zombie We showed the Germans how we do Halloween American style.

33: Museum and Engine Assembly Plant Tour | Daimler Field Trip and Tour

34: Dochau Concentration Camp, Germany

35: We both felt odd taking pictures but we wanted to remember our trip, no matter how sad and emotionally grueling it was, to one of the most famous and deadly concentration camps of World War II. | Colette and I figured we had to see a concentration camp while in Germany. I was not prepared for the amount of emotion this experience would cause.

36: London, England | We toured the London Tower Ate fish and chips Went to the King Cross train station Saw the London Bridge and Big Ben

39: First trip in Europe with Mom and Dad. It was very eye opening to see Berlin and how they have changed since the wall fell. | Berlin, Germany | I'm so happy my parents came to visit. Having them there made me a little less homesick.

40: Normandy, France | In Normandy, we followed in the steps of my Great Uncle Guy who landed in Normandy during WW II. This was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. | The USA military cemetery from WW II is United States soil outside of the United States

43: Paris, France | Mom, Dad, and I spent Thanksgiving in Paris. We ate at a place called Indiana but they didn't have any turkey. Dad got to drive around the Arc De Triumph traffic circle in our rental car. | Went to a Christmas Market in Paris Went to the, Eiffel Tour, Notre Dame, Louvre and Versailles Colette met us there and we rented an amazing apartment for Colette's and my standards

44: Colette did her Wine Diploma and Mat, Rolf, and I did the Beer Diploma | I made it to my last beer, got sick, and passed out. Mat finished my beer so I could graduate | Beer and Wine Diploma | At a local bar in Reutlingen

45: It was a crazy ,hilarious, ridiculous, fun time | Mat teaching us how to wear our scarves

46: Christmas markets throughout Germany were a blast especially when there was gluhwein involved. They helped make all my Christmas shopping that year so easy.

47: Esslingen, Germany Weihnachtsmarkt

48: Strasbourg, France Weihnachtsmarkt | We took a day trip to Strasbourg with the Mexican boys. We toured the city and the festival. Juan was our own personal "tour guide" around the city.

50: Tubingen, Germany Weihnachtsmarkt

51: We had our full of Gluhwein and stayed nice and warm. | Went to Weihnachtsmarkt with Colette and Rose

52: This Christmas market was only a 30 minute train ride from the Reutlingen where we lived. Colette, Rose, and I went to this market.

53: Stuttgart, Germany Weihnachtsmarkt

54: Partying with Friends Reutlingen, Germany | Rocking our new German style at Euro shot night | Having Dinner at Mat's Parents house | Partying at and old movie theater | Some very memorable times with our Mexican friends. We miss them lots.

55: Going Away Partys Reutlingen, Germany | Making Mexican food for our Mexican friends | All our Mexican friends at the going away dinner | Our neighbor, Ricardo, in the apartments | Our friend, Eneal | The going away dinner after party | Colette, Rose, and I
