While at the pier we must not forget to say hi to the local mascot "Sweety" the pelican
"Sweety" quickly reminded me who was in charge of the pier by taking my soda cup. The little children gave me a little advise how to regain my soda, "she won't hurt you she just wants to nibble on your arm!"
After a day of surfing and fishing what could be left? The start of a great beginning You are now invited to view the photos which captured the joy and love shared between the friends who attended the marriage of: Barb & Steve June 9th 2011 Cocoa Beach, Florida
We parted ours ways upon the return to the hotel with the agreement to meet at the beach at 6:45pm. And to my surprise a dozen red roses were sent to me by the groom.
As the events of the evening were being prepared on the beach, the bride and her two best men watched with excitement from the hotel room.
Last minute preparations leave me ironing clothes before the ceremony. Everything turns out well with my two favorite handsome guys to lead me down the aisle. (wow what a mess)
Honeymoon day 1 | Back at the pier the fishing saga continues
As the fishing continues Alex makes friends with "Sweety"
The day at the pier ends with Steve catching a fish, but as Steve gently unhooks the fish he is left with a parting gift. (poop!)
As the honeymoon continues might it be a romantic sunset ocean cruise? Nope we are now off on a deep sea fishing charter to go shark fishing! When asked how do you like the honeymoon so far Tyler simply replied "its great". The deep sea adventure was led by none other than Captain Dan. As the boys grew excited I suddenly feel sick to the infamous "sea sickness". After my quick recovery Shelly caught the bug and tried to remain still while the shark fishing began. Tyler chose the boat named Sea Leveler with hopes of catching a monster shark.
Captain Dan retrieves a "cannon ball" jelly fish from the ocean and tries to lure us to touch the ocean creature. Are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!
The bait is ready let's fish! Not long and everyone has a bite. | Tyler is first with a Tarpon on his line. Tyler fought a battle but the line broke. (150lbs) Way to go Tyler! Next shark 1 and 2 comes a board
Tyler takes a moment to drive, while Steve has something on his line. | While Steve completes the hour still fighting his line, Clay and Tyler catch a bait fish.
The battle continued for 2 hours with the help of Clay & Captain Dan as the fisherman grew tired, but to our delight the creature from the deep ocean came to the surface to let us get a glimpse of what it could be?
A Saw fish (endangered species) | estimated size 11ft 300lbs too bad for Steve it broke the line and swam away!
After the long evening of fishing .......... | we return from our shark adventure in the deep and where is Shelly you ask?
Hugs and kisses she is alive and recovers quickly on the return trip to the shore. Hey by the way who is on their honeymoon Barb & Steve or Barb & Shelly? You decide
The happy fisherman take a moment to pose for the camera and trade fish stories with the returning fisherman Official results: 6-10-11 Sea Leveler1 4 hour shark trip: 1 Guans saw shark 11 foot long (1st one we ever caught and that has ever heard of being caught off the coast) 1 black tip shark, 1 tarpon, 1 black nose shark. Shelly and me getting sea sick priceless!
Happy 41st Birthday to mom! Day 2 of the honeymoon | Birthday girl's choice, Disney Typhoon Lagoon Water park here we come!
Its off to dinner! Then shopping with 500,000 of Clay's closest relatives | Even though the stores are overflowing with tourists Clay steals a kiss.
In search of the perfect hat. Will it be Goofy, Mickey or Dale? Nope only a New York Yankees hat will do.
Day 3 of the honeymoon begins slowly. Tyler is lost in the fluffy bed and doesn't flinch to the flash. Steve on the other hand is not to happy to have his picture taken this early. After everyone awakes it is off to the beach
After a long day at the beach it is off to eat at none other than Boston Beef and Seafood. Can you believe we got Tyler the Yankees fan in here! When are bellies finally settled after the best meal ever it was off to the pier for an evening stroll. Tyler took awesome pictures.
As we walked on the beach to our surprise we found a sea turtle nest. The momma is not too far from her nest as we would find out in the near future.
Day 4 of the honeymoon begins on a sad little note our friends depart. Tears soon dry and it's off to the pier, Tyler pulls ahead in the competition no catching him now.
It's back to the beach time to get goofy!
Crabbing on the beach Two flashlights Two nets 1 bucket The loads of fun priceless! When the catching was complete let the crab races begin
Day 5 of the honeymoon Mantee cruise on the Bannanna River | and guess who is driving the boat again. Does anyone ask this kid for a license
Exhausted from driving the boat Tyler decides to have a heat stroke.
The cruise leads us through the Canaveral Locks with a brief sighting of a manatee. The cruise was peaceful and hot until a sudden storm struck the area and created a rough ride back to shore.
Day 6 of the honeymoon time to return home. With the whole day ahead before a 9:00pm flight what should we do? Of course go to the beach
The next stop back to the pier | Fishing competition results: Tyler winner by a landslide Steve second place, but a parting gift of fish poop way to go Steve
The fish weren't bitting but we sure did enjoy see a sting ray being caught and brought on the pier for all eyes to see | As I said the fish weren't bitting but Steve caught the momma sea turtle who was a little hungry. No worries the line was cut and she was set free to watch over her eggs on the shore.
Time to return to the airport and on our way home
 With only a little luggage
Once in the airport we wait and wait oh you guessed it delay and the return of Fart Boy! But this time we made it landing in St. Louis at 5:00am
The wedding date may be erased by the sands and waves, but out marriage is meant to last a life time. Sad but true this is the end of our wedding and honeymoon, but every ending has a beginning. A new life awaits at our new home 7012 Stoney Creek, and as a wife to a wonderful man. But my greatest thanks go to my son Tyler, who I am grateful to for being a part of a special moment in my life and allowing me to share his special moments in his life. I love you Tyler and Steve!
