3: Remember packing 2 footlockers & inviting you at the last minute for a quick trip to the Tetons. It was ~4,240 miles later, with crossed-eyes, I dropped you off to register for UT. You only told me the night before so we drove from Santa Fe to Austin in one day! Palo Duro Canyon was beautiful & the drive through Midland and northwest TX was surreal with oil rigs pumping on cattle ranches as far as one could see. I can’t find the pixs. We camped a few nights but mostly stayed in a luxury cabin at Jenny Lake in the Tetons NP. You made many phone calls to Austin to a special friend.I think we saw ~ 8 national parks—Utah was stunning. The Four Corners region is famous for the Canyonlands NP; it was ~112 deg so we didn’t hike much (like 2 steps). Pulling into Santa Fe finally, I ran up onto a curb & almost hit a street light—all from fatigue. The motel was horrible; tub handles missing, but we only needed a few hours to sack out & did. I had all these slides scanned at Jeff’s Photos & Video in Oregon, but got a note from UPS the mail train had derailed in Montana in snow & ice (DELIVERY EXCEPTION). By day 5, however, these had been rescued & arrived at Jeff’s. They’ve all been photoediting in Sony PMB. --November 11, 2012 | Double Rainbow in ID
