70: One of our absolute favorite things to do while traveling is EAT! We love trying new foods and experiencing the many unique flavors of each place we visit. Costa Rican cuisine was to die for! We visited a supermarket (which is always an adventure in a foreign country), and we had a great experience at the local farmers market. Of course we tried many different restaurants and even had some food delivered a couple nights to our unit. Our timeshare had several places to eat on site. The neat thing was that the SAME family ran EACH on site restaurant. In the morning for breakfast, the mother would cook at Restaurante Pura Vida. I loved the huevos rancheros and fresh jugos (juices). During lunch and dinner, the family moved over to Cayuna Restaurant. It seemed as though they lived there as well. This was some TRUE home cooked, authentic Costa Rican cuisine. We ate casada there pretty frequently with either pollo (chicken), pescado (fish), or pork. One night they hosted a "Special Dinner" which involved three courses, and another night was a barbecue! | The Flavors of Costa Rica
