FC: Los Angeles: The place where dreams come true | By: Rachael Bailey

Many people call Los Angeles by its nickname, LA. Either way it's still 75 miles of sunny coastline, flourishing downtown and it is the perfect lifestyle playgrounds for the rich and famous. Popular for it's movie making and films.

On September 9th, 1850 the state of California became part of the United States. At that time period there was only a little over 3,000 people. In 2008, the population of Los Angeles was 3,076,071. In the Los Angeles County population was 10,245,572.

The most popular attractions in L.A are the state-of-the-art rides to walk through historical neighborhoods, Universal Studios, Hollywood, Six Flags, Magic Mountain, Disneyland, and these are a few of places that make it one of the "happiest place on Earth".

Los Angeles is a very memorable place by itself, but it also has a shocking history. It has many museums that include the Walt Disney Hall, Space Shuttle (at the California Science Center), Air Force One (at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library), Dinosaur Hall, and the Natural History Museum.

Most people, when they go to Los Angeles, the thing that effects them the most is the breathtaking scenery. That comes from the warm beaches and the outstanding views from tops of buildings. A perfect day would be sitting at the beach and enjoying the bright sunshine.

In L.A there aren't just museums and beaches, there are also many music centers. For example the popular Music Center in downtown L.A that many famous orchestras and performances have taken place

Los Angeles is located in Southwest part of California. It also happens to be a hot spot for Earthquake hazard. Right next to long beach, Los Angeles is a beautiful place for a holiday vacation

Los Angeles is an all year long paradise. Weather here is warm and sunny, with the occasional rain and clouds. Around here, you can get around wearing shorts and flip-flops all day, everyday. Overall its a bright and happy place to be.

One of the best ways to experience Los Angeles is by visiting its incredible cultural attractions. L.A is always having outdoor concerts at the Hollywood Bowl. There are so many museums that you wouldn't be able to see them all in one day.

the Shirley Temple was invented here at the Brown Derby Restaurant. | It has 6 area codes—213, 310, 323, 424, 626, 818—more than any other American city. And four of them are palindromes! | There are over 170 colleges and universities in Los Angeles | Has been called "The City of Angels".

Journal #1 Today I am traveling to the great city of Los Angeles, California. So far all that i have see is the blinding sun that is able to be seen outside the airplane window. I have heard a lot about L.A in movies and TV, but never thought that I would ever be able to visit the famous Hollywood hot spot myself.

Journal entry #2 I have gotten off of the plane and am now heading to my hotel. I'm staying at the Sheraton Gateway hotel and am very excited. Once I finished unpacking I am ready for my busy day. First I start off at the Los Angeles County Art Museum (LACMA). After that I go to the Hollywood Bowl Museum. Then the Hollywood Heritage Museum, afterwards comes the Hollywood Museum and lastly is the Galleries at Barnsdall Art Park. This takes up most of my day so I end it by going to a local BBQ place, Park's BBQ

Journal entry #3 On my second day in Los Angeles I'm taking a lazy day and spending a few hours in a concert at the Music Center. I am going to hear a famous orchestra. After the show, I am wide away and want to stretch my legs. So I am off to take a walk at he local park. While I am there i see a poster about a concert tonight at the Hollywood Bowl. I make no other plans for the day, and just walk around enjoying my surroundings of the city, waiting for tonight.

Journal entry #4 After the concert my ears are ringing. I don't have much energy to do anything, so I decide to head to the local Starbucks. While I am here I think about my amazing journey that I have taking in the past couple of days. In the end, I would love to come come back and see the memorable Los Angeles. Even though I have been here for two days, there is still many things that I would love to see. There is always something new to see in LA.

Both LA and Kansas are located in the United States. L.A is more of a city feeling as for Kansas is more of a suburban area. Kansas is more of a slower pace, but Los Angeles is more fast because it's has a higher population. LA is different from Kansas because LA has more than 3 million citizens. | Compare and Contrast

The cause of my journey has affected me because I have learned how to make my own decisions and don't something just because other people are. Do things that you want to do, don't be like everyone else. Be you. | Cause and Effect:

Conclusion This journey has taught me that there is more to things there, you just have to dig a little deeper to find it. "A little step can be the start of a big adventure."
