1: Things he was known for... | Peace | L o v e | H a p p i n e s s

2: John is with his aunt Mimi in the picture on the left. John lived in Liverpool England with his aunt most of his life. She had a very strict way of raising John. | John as a young boy... | John is with his mother Julia on the right. John didn't live with his mother growing up. She came to visit him every so often, but his aunt Mimi tried her best to keep his mother a secret. He always cherished the time he had with his mother. John got close with his mom in his teenage years. | John was born October 9th 1940. When he was a child he went to school at Dovedale Primary. He also enjoyed being a prankster and getting in trouble as a child. He started listening to the radio and singing at a young age.

3: John Grows up... | John formed a band called Quarry Men. He formed this band with his fiends in high school. It got its name after his high school "Quarry Banks". The band is in the picture on the right. | John didn't get very good grades in school. John's school master recommended him to go to art college even though his grades weren't the best, he still had an incredible artistic talent. | When John went to art college he met Cynthia Powell. It wasn't long before they started dating. In 1962 after being together for four years they got married. Cynthia became John's first wife. He is with her in the picture on the left. | John did decide to go to art college in 1957.

4: Things John enjoyed doing... | John enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. He showed interest in music at a young age and had loved it ever since. He also loved writing poems and small stories. Many people describe his poetry as "crazy". Every Summer he went to Strawberry Fields for the annual garden party with his aunt Mimi. | John enjoyed being himself. John had a sense of humor and strong opinions.He was always one who could make you laugh. He never let anyone change his opinions or beliefs.

5: Love | John found true love when he met Yoko Ono. She became his second wife in 1996. John even wrote a song about their marriage titled "The Ballad of John and Yoko". They moved to New York together and lived there till John died.

6: John's Kids | In the picture on the left John is with his son Julian Lennon. Julian belonged to John's first wife Cynthia Powell. Both of John's kids had an interest in music. They both released records of their own in 1998. | John had two children. In the picture on the right he is with Sean Lennon. Sean belonged to John and Yoko Ono his second wife.

7: The Beatles | The first start of The Beatles was in 1960. John had wrote the first song they ever played on television. The name of that song was "All You Need is Love". It became an instant hit for The Beatles. | The Beatles gained popularity in 1964. Without John they would have never reached that point. John Lennon played a big part in The Beatles. He wrote a lot of songs that were hits for the band and had a wonderful voice in singing.

8: John's Solo Work | John started his solo work in the 1970's. He started right after The Beatles split up. His solo work gained lots of popularity. | John's most known solo album is Imagine. He wrote songs in solo career such as, "Give Peace a Chance", "Imagine", and Happy x-mas (War is Over)". John still continued on with his career even after The Beatles split up. This made him even more open about his opinions and beliefs.

9: Charity Work | John supported many charities such as UNICEF, WhyHunger, and Aids Still Required. John gave many donations to Strawberry Fields Salvation Army/Orphanage. After his death Yoko donated 375,000 dollars to Strawberry Fields. In remembrance of John and all his donations they named one of the Strawberry Fields buildings "Lennon Hall". | This the entrance gate at Strawberry Fields Salvation Army/ Orphanage.

10: John Lennon is Assassinated... | John Lennon was assassinated December 8th, 1980. He was shot five times in the back by his killer Mark Chapman. Before he was shot Mark asked for his auto graph.Then he went and hid and waited to kill John. After John was shot Yoko called for help as fast as she could. Unfortunately, John died in transit to the E.R. | People still remember John to this day. December 8th every year there is memorials for John in Central Park New York. In Central Park his imagine monument is there along with a bench with John on it. These two monuments can be found on the right.

11: John's Accomplishments... | John accomplished many things throughout his career. He made 25 albums with The Beatles, and made 15 solo albums. John also stared in a few movies such as Nowhere Boy, Help, and Hard Day's Night. He also was able to be on the covers of several magazines because of his accomplishments. On the right is pictures of things John accomplished throughout his career.

12: Why I Chose John Lennon | I Chose John Lennon because The Beatles is may favorite band, and John Lennon is my favorite member of the band. I think John's story is the most interesting and his death is the most shocking. I look up to John as a role model to believe that there is peace in this world. I always liked how John had such strong beliefs and opinions that he never let anyone change.He played a big role in Society in the 60's. He was really a remarkable person in my eyes.
