32: Anyone who knows me knows I love Elvis. What most people don't know is why. When I was little I pretty much lived at my Granddaddy's house. My momma would come to get me after work and I would beg to stay just one more night with him. He was my hero and my friend. And he loved Elvis Presley. We used to spend hours at a time dancing to every Elvis song ever recorded - there is video evidence. Nothing like an hour long home movie of me dancing to Hound Dog at the age of three. Many days were spent watching countless Elvis movies, Blue Hawaii being my favorite. I always told my Granddaddy that when I got married I'd walk down the aisle to "Can't Help Falling in Love With You." And even more importantly, I would have Hound Dog played and he and I would dance together just like we did in his living room so many years ago. My Granddaddy passed away December 26, 2004. There is not a day that goes by that I don't miss him with everything I have. He will always be my hero and my dance partner and I hold his love and all the lessons he taught me close to my heart every single day. One of my favorite things about Matt is how important his grandparents were and still are to him. He made personal sacrifices to make sure his grandmother was taken care of. He idolized his grandfather and will forever be his little shadow. And to this day he still honors them in every action he takes, every decision he makes. So, I ask this of everyone here tonight. I would like to play Hound Dog by Elvis Presley in honor of not just my Granddaddy, but of all the wonderful grandparents not here physically but still watching from the best seat in the house: My Paka, my Grandmommy Rosenell, Matt's Granddaddy Garland and Barbara, his Grannie, and his Grandpa and Grandma Carey .So please, if you would, dance with us and feel their presence here with us tonight as we celebrate their lives, and my new life with my wonderful new husband. I love you all, and I love you Granddaddy. | Jessica
