Host a Virtual Grad Party

Using your telecommunication of choice (FaceTime, Zoom, Google Hangouts) host a virtual graduation party. This will be a great way to involve older relatives who aren’t able to be there in person. Each guest can share their favorite memory of your graduate, or toast to their future, and share their congratulations. Everyone loves virtual cheers!

Order food from their favorite restaurant

Good food always puts a smile on someone’s face. Especially when it’s your favorite dish. Surprise your grad with a catered meal from their favorite local restaurant. You’ll be supporting local businesses AND celebrating your grad. Double points!

Create a Facebook Event Page for Well Wishes

Along with your virtual grad party, you can also create a Facebook event page to have friends and family post inspiring messages and their congratulations for your graduate. This would be a great option if you want to keep your Zoom party more intimate. Friends can participate on Facebook.

Record and Gather Video Tributes

Create something that your grad will cherish forever. Send out a request to friends and family and ask them to film their toasts or kind words ahead of time. Quickly splice together the video clips using an app or iMovie and watch together as a family.

Have a Caravan Celebration

These car parades have been a hit lately and a great way to see friends and family from a safe distance. Tell your friends and family members to decorate signs or make posters and drive by your front lawn at a specific time. They’ll honk and shout their congratulations as your grad watches, laughs, and smiles.

Create a Photo Book of Past Memories

Mixbook offers so many varieties of photo books. Create a photo book of your graduate’s journey. Start with your favorite moments from kindergarten all the way up to the present day. There have been so many major accomplishments in your child’s first 18 years of life. Now’s a great time to close this chapter and start a new one. It’ll be their favorite “yearbook” yet!

Have an At-Home Gift Scavenger Hunt

Want to keep your graduate busy for hours at home and celebrate along the way? Create a scavenger hunt around the house for a fun way to gift them. They’ve got the book smarts to work through riddles and clues to find their gifts. Maybe lead them to the garage to surprise them with a brand new car?

Decorate Your Front Door

Show your Class of 2020 pride and decorate your front door or porch. Announce to the neighborhood that you’ve got a graduate that you are proud of. It’ll bring some smiles to the neighborhood for sure. Your graduate may be a little embarrassed, but this is the last time. Right, Mom and Dad?
